Tasting notes

Crafted exclusively for our 12-bottle Crest Club members, this inaugural single-varietal Petit Verdot is a striking and rare expression of our Estate Vineyard. Drawn from blocks planted in 2002, the naturally small berries of clones 2 and 400 yielded remarkable concentration and depth, pouring into the glass with a dark, inky intensity that immediately commands attention. The aromatics are deeply layered and evocative — brambly blackberry and crushed black plum rise first, followed by perfumed violet and a whisper of scorched earth and warm stone. There is a brooding richness to the bouquet that hints at the wine’s power.

On the palate, it delivers a bold, full-bodied presence wrapped in velvety structure. Dense waves of black fruit, cocoa nib and subtle savory spice unfold with surprising suppleness, making it more inviting in its youth than one might expect from Petit Verdot.

The finish is long and architectural, with polished tannins and balanced acidity that promise graceful evolution over the next seven to ten years. With just 119 cases produced, this limited release is destined for the table — sublime alongside charred grilled meats or deepfried oyster mushrooms, where its intensity and depth truly shine.
